For two years prior to 25 May 2018, EU organisations slowly awakened to the fact that the most comprehensive data protection legislation in the world – the General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR – was channeling its way into the boardrooms and tearooms and restrooms and changing rooms – and basically everywhere that collects personal facts relating to individuals.
We soon found our customers started to look to us for assistance…
Where did it all start?
So, in January 2017 MCS Integrated Solutions started our relationship with the GDPR. A team was assembled. Knowledge was gradually gained. All MCS staff were trained. Discussions with customers on all things GDPR ensued. A picture emerged. There was a lot of confusion and misinformation.
Offerings on the market of for-profit and not-for-profit GDPR training courses
People started attending training.
Customers commenting, asking questions, GDP-what?
Nobody was clear on its implications.
How we responded to our customers’ GDPR needs
Therefore, we decided to develop a practical workshop to make the GDPR real….an ounce of reality being better than a ton of ruminating..
Our practical GDPR workshops were launched in October 2017 – find out more here
They continue to this day, with the overall satisfaction of our attendees being over 97%
As a result of these workshops & subsequent discussions with our customers, we have developed & delivered a programme of services, including GDPR Readiness Assessments, DPIAs, Technical & Physical Security Audits, created GDPR Policies & Procedures and provided a helpline to our growing customer base.
While the MCS GDPR services team are focused on helping organisations comply with the GDPR, we also want to help each of our customers realise and materialise the opportunities that the GDPR makes possible for their business. What people may not know is that the GDPR serves not just the customers of businesses but also the business itself.
How we do what we do
We like to think that we work with companies rather than for companies. Getting an understanding of how personal data flows in an organisation and working with the staff to enable each organisation to manage its processes while managing its risks is what we do.
The GDPR services group evolved from a company that has dedicated more than four decades to helping SMEs become successful. We look forward to helping many more organisations comply and prosper from the GDPR.
